X-Blog #0089: The KJR (Summerslam 2010)
By Derek X
I am so pissed off right now. Everything about Summerslam just served to really tick me off. Even the things that I should have liked. So, for those of you who believe I'm too negative - be prepared. This KJR is all hate, all the time.
WHAT I HATED:
One F*cking Match: That's all I was anticipating... one match for the whole night. The only match I wanted to see was Kofi/Dolph for the IC Title. I wanted to see Dolph beat Kofi cleanly on PPV to solidify himself as a singles champion. I wanted to see if Kofi's new-found rage would send him over the edge and turn him heel. But what did I get? A No Contest. No Contest. This wasn't an episode of RAW. There was no reason for Nexus to interfere in this match. No reason whatsoever. Did someone in the back think... "We have two young, talented superstars competing in the most important match of their young careers on a Big 4 PPV. But something is missing. I know, let's crap all over it!" That's exactly what they did. Bastards.
Sheamus: What is it going to take for someone to make Sheamus a legitimate champion? I'm am so tired of him beating up on NXT rookies and Evan Bourne. Can't even one top-tier superstar put him over on a big stage? Sure, he took out Triple H, but not at Wrestlemania like he should have. No, that would have instantly made Triple H a jobber, right? I don't understand this logic that if a solid main eventer loses cleanly to an up-and-comer, it makes them look weak. It doesn't. I'm tired of Sheamus winning/losing by DQ. I'm tired of him looking weak when he's booked as being strong. It's been a whole year, people. It's time to take the training wheels off.
Rey/Kane/Taker: First, allow me to start by asking what the hell was with that ugly orange suit Rey was wearing? That was horrible. We should not have been subjected to that. In fact, we should not have been subjected to that entire match. I think I speak for everyone in the WWE Universe when I say we knew Undertaker was going to return at Summerslam. He should have returned a good ten minutes before he did and cut that horrible match short. And, man did Taker ever look rough. I would have figured he'd gain some youthful vigor by giving it to Michelle McCool, but maybe that succubus is taking the life right out of him. I'm as happy as anyone to have a legend back in the ring, but if he can't stay healthy and doesn't look it either, maybe it's time to hang up the boots.
Daniel Bryan: I know, right, who would have thought he'd end up in the 'HATED' category? This has nothing to do with him and everything to do with the WWE's treatment of him. Now, they look like the good guys because they can play this off like it was a storyline when it clearly wasn't. They fired Danielson because he spit in Cena's face and told him he was better than him. Well, he
is better than Cena and he showed it by eliminating a good group of Nexus with some innovative submissions that Cena couldn't begin to pull off. I'm glad Brian is back in the WWE, but with his size I have a strange feeling that it's all downhill from here.
John Cena: Okay, I get it. I finally f*cking get it. John Cena is the man. He's, like, the best wrestler ever. He defeated the Nexus single-handedly and stood tall at the end of the match as the sole survivor. I love John Cena. He's a better entertainer than The Rock. He's tougher than Steve Austin. He's a better technician than Kurt Angle. And he's better than Bret Hart, Ric Flair and Shawn Micheals combined. Is that what you want to hear, Vince? Are you satisfied now? Can you please stop shoving this fool down my throat? I just get the feeling that until everyone accepts Cena for exactly what Vince sees him as, we're never gonna get rid of the guy.
The whole time this Team WWE vs The Nexus angle began, it's been nonstop talk of teamwork and co-existing. But in the end, it had nothing to do with teams. It had nothing to do with any of the other six members of the so-called 'Team' WWE. It was all about John Cena, just like everything else in the WWE is. Sheamus and Randy Orton aren't fighting over the WWE Championship... they're just fighting to see who's gonna lose it to John Cena next. Miz isn't holding a guaranteed title shot in his MITB briefcase... no, it's a contract for him to be Cena's next victim. This isn't World Wrestling Entertainment anymore... it's John Cena Entertainment. No matter what rivalry may come to Cena, or how downtrodden it might seem at the time, just know that John Cena is waiting in the wings and eventually he's going to reign supreme. I really, really hate this guy.
